Exciting huh? VERY. I was expecting just a normal and what may be exciting match and i got much more in return. The mood was very high as the Lions fans cheered on their national team. We got to cheer like its dooms day - something we don't get to do when watching espn ch23. The mood in the S'pore camp was pretty down towards the end of the match due to us losing and having the chance of being knocked out, until Mr Saviour ( I don't even know my own country's football player.. how pathetic ) scored a goal to put us back in contention. Then S'pore was awarded a penalty and there was fighting on the pitch. Then there was crowd trouble and fighting everywhere. Umbrellas, drinks, lions t-shirt was seen flying all over the place over the Myanmar section. A pear narrowly missed my head. It's like the scene directly out of a Seria A league match, where supporters were all running away in the empty stands away from the Police, who were chasing with their batons out. On into extra time, 11 men S'pore played against 8 men Myanmar. We just overran them and scored 3 goals in the turbulent extra time, where i counted there were a total of 3 fights on the pitch. On the way out, I saw this Malay covered in blood and being escorted by Policemen. Outside the stadium, no sign of police presence. I saw a Maynmar fan being mobbed by a bunch of Malays. They were taking free shots at him with their legs and hands and even an Umbrella! Further out, police cars were rushing in.
It's what $6 can buy you nowadays.
The blood is real..
